Pico Mountain
Pico Ski Resort is one of Vermont's largest mountains at 1,967 ft vertical. It is set next to Killington and is close to Rutland. Pico is home to the Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports and is a 100% smoke-free resort. At over a mile long, Pike is the longest trail that goes all the way from the summit to the base lodge. Experts can ski and snowboarder a double-black diamond, the steepest trail, Giant Killer. Pico also offers classic tree skiing, cruising and carving trails. Killington and Pico both allow uphill travel for skinners and snowshoes with proper documents. A variety of lodging and dining can be found at the resort. Pico offers many off mountain activities as well. An indoor climbing center is located in Rutland just a short drive from Killington, sleigh rides can be booked from several businesses, guided snowmobile tours can be taken throughout the park system, and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are great ways to experience Vermont's outdoors.
