Wisconsin Resorts

Wisconsin ranks third in the country for the number of ski and snowboard resorts. With resorts scattered throughout the state residents are within an hour's travel time to skiing and snowboarding areas. Many are just a short drive from Chicago or Milwaukee. The season usually starts in the north in November with most resorts open by December running through to March. Granite Peak located in the heart of Wisconsin has the highest skiable terrain in the state. Devil's Head in South Central Wisconsin is a four-season resort with 300 acres of terrain, the third largest in the Midwest. Whitecap is located on the western end of the Lake Superior snow belt. The resort is sprawled out over three mountains. Mt. La Crosse offers a wide variety of terrain, Wisconsin's longest run at 5,300 ft. and Mid-America's steepest trail.
