Elk Mountain Ski Resort is set in the Endless Mountains, 30 miles north of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Elk Mountain history dates back to 1959, when it became one of Pennsylvania's first commercial ski areas. The slopes offer some of the most challenging terrain in the region with distinctive character of surrounding evergreens and has the highest lift-serviced peak in eastern Pennsylvania. Since the 80's over 13,000 trees have been planted. Along with the usual ski and board rentals Elk offers adaptive rental equipment. The hill has 2 terrain parks. The base lodge features a restaurant, guest services and ski & board retail shop. A variety of lodging from B&B to hotels can be found nearby as well as dining options.
